Online Work Climate Training

Examining the Social Fabric of Organizational Life

By Judd Robert Allen, Ph.D.

Purpose  The Online Work Climate Training teaches managers and supervisors how to assess and modify the sense of community, shared vision and positive outlook in a work group. This hands on training offers an opportunity for a manager or supervisor to simultaneously learn about work climate while improving the social atmosphere in his or her work group. Work climate is an important factor in individual and organizational growth. It helps determine morale, job stress, recruitment, turnover, organizational learning, teamwork, employee health and productivity. In addition, workplace diversity and work/life balance goals are more easily reached with a healthy work climate.

A Culture Change Sourcebook chapter reprint explains the research that formed the basis for the online Work Climate Training.

Features Streaming video, readings and email feedback on course assignments empower trainees to conduct a cultural analysis and address issues that have been identified. This is an applied training. Course work includes an environmental assessment and the creation of a plan to improve the work climate. This is a self-paced six unit course. Expert email feedback is provided on course assignments.
